Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, DJ Beezz (aka Malcolm Brown, or “Big Mal” to those who know him best) has always had creativity running through his veins.
Before he ever stepped behind a turntable, Malcolm was lighting up the local acting scene — appearing in commercials and print campaigns across the city. But everything changed in high school when his mother gifted him his first Numark NS7 DJ board and MPK 25 keyboard controller. That spark turned into a lifelong love for music, rhythm, and the power of moving a crowd.
His first big break came when he opened for Travis Porter at a local teen event — a defining moment that set the stage for the DJ career to come.
In college at Ohio University, Malcolm took things to the next level, landing an internship at an underground radio station as a radio host and producer.
There, he honed his ear for sound and storytelling — producing popular segments like The Sleaze, The Cook Up, Got Dirt, and Album Review. Those early days taught him the art of flow, timing, and how to create an experience listeners could feel.
That same passion followed him into the stands — literally. He became the official DJ for Ohio University’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, mastering the art of reading energy and amplifying it in real time.
From college arenas to festival crowds, DJ Beezz quickly became known for transforming spaces with his energy and sound.
He founded Bezzey Fest, a student festival that attracted over 200 attendees, and went on to emcee and open for Sean Kingston.
His career milestones include headlining major stages such as:
Over the years, Beezz has also been trusted by organizations like Ohio State University, The Keith Key Foundation, KIPP High School, and Columbus Urban League — bringing unmatched sound and energy to every occasion.
Today, as the founder of DJ Beezz Entertainment, Malcolm has spent over a decade curating unforgettable experiences across weddings, corporate functions, silent discos, and brand activations.
With expert command over Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, and Top 40, he blends genres seamlessly, reads any crowd intuitively, and elevates events from simple gatherings to pure experiences.
“In a way, I’m like a superhero — and my superpower is making people dance.”
That passion has become his calling card: creating spaces where music connects people, memories are made, and the vibe never stops.
